PROGRAM SUPPORT

Where there is a convergence of objectives, methods, and learnings we work with select partners like Recovery Café to bring their own arts and cultural programs to life. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with Recovery Café to define, manage, and refine events that bring joy to their Members.
Sheyne Benedict, Director of Programs for Recovery Café explains: “One of our key aims is to help our Members know they are part of a caring community. Helping them access the joy of arts and culture, and a connection to a bigger world, is one important way to do this. We are pleased to be working with Big World Connection to bring events like these to life.”

“Our vision at Seattle Rep is “Theater at the Heart of public life”. That means so many different things in our building, but it really distills down to welcoming our community to be a part of the art at every stage. Programming shows that represent and connect with diverse cultures and perspectives, offering PWYC performances, and hosting classes for every experience level. Working with Big World Connection is another fantastic way to welcome folks into community with us who may not typically plan to attend the theater. Theater is for everyone and we are excited to invite people to join us in any way that we can.” – Danielle Reinkens,
Senior Manager of Patron Relations, Seattle Rep

UW School of Drama hosted Big World Connection for the final dress rehearsal of Checkov’s the Seagull. Critic Kindle Carpp of Shoreline Area News writes, “The overall acting is so strong that it is easy to be swept away by the story, carried along by the many intersecting storylines and character dynamics.” One of our participants told us, “It was beyond what I expected.” Another concurred: “It exceeded my expectations, I was impressed at the quality of the performances.” And another: “I definitely want to do something like this again.”
